As far as I know, you need to travel through one of the border crossings in
order to request assylum.

I don't have any answers for this, but seeing disregard for human life
doesn't suit us as a country. Watching ICE pouring out bottles of water
left for border crossers? Unconscionable. I couldn't imagine the mindset of
someone who could do that.
