Sean, SD> So yes, the Holy See -does- protect its borders. Next time you're in Rome, let me know so you can show this border protection. Let me put it this way, I've been there enough ... one just walks in there, unquestioned. SD> The rest of your list of countries all have militaries that are SD> charge for protecting each country's borders. No, they are not. For example, I can drive from Belgium through Luxembourg into NE France or western Germany at a steady speed of 140km/h and not slow down at the border. I can continue through France or Germany into Italy and will not be stopped at the borders ... There simply are no guards. All these countries are Schengen-Treaty countries and as a result have dissolved border checks and customs. I understand that for some that is difficult to grasp, but it's the case anyway. We do have military patroling Brussels airport (after the 2016 bombing there, but that's counter terrorism) but they're not involved in border protection, that's a special police-unit of border police ... and I already noticed they don't hire the brightest of the bright. I drive into the seaport of Antwerp often, that's also a border ... never see any military there. \%/@rd --- D'Bridge 3.99 SR41 * Origin: Ceci n'est pas un courriel (2:292/854) |
