-=> On 07-12-18 19:43, Gregory Deyss <=- -=> spoke to Bob Ackley about Re: Happy Birthday Americ <=- BA> Most fireworks are legal in Missouri, but are illegal in Iowa and BA> Nebraska. There's a big fireworks industry on the Missouri side of BA> the Iowa and Nebraska borders. Nebraska used to put roadblocks on BA> its bridges across the Missouri River to stop cars entering the state BA> to search them for fireworks, and confiscated any fireworks they BA> found GD> You say used to, do they not do this any longer, I do not see how that GD> could be legal, stopping someone simply based on a suspicion. Read what he said and did not say. He did not say "stopped based on a suspicion", which would be illegal without some other propable cause. He said stop cars, which may well mean *all* cars. There are times when police set up road blocks to catch drunk drivers. At those roadblocks. They stop all cars, albeit very briefly unless there is further evidence of alcohol -- e.g. smell of alcohol on their breath. Dale Shipp fido_261_1466 (at) verizon (dot) net (1:261/1466) ...
