How  about the 0x8d cp866 character in this reply?

AFAICT, they're ok... this is also from the console terminal... what i see
above is how they looked before i entered this editor...

i'll have to take a look at your post from my golded setup on my point... i'm
sure the characters won't show up properly there because of its CP437 heritage
and that i'm running golded in a CP437 conversion wrapper...
