A few years back, we had a very localized power outage. Actually, the local power company had made it a little worse by turning the power off to a larger area (when it was not necessary). Thing was that the local power company had apparently sent ALL of their trucks and/or linemen multiple states away for hurricane duty, so the only way the folks left over knew to turn off the power in the downed-line area was to turn it off to the much larger area, and then wait and wait until someone could eventually fix it. This happened on a Friday night. I called that night, and again the next day. Was told it would be fixed by Saturday evening. Saturday had turned out to be the hottest day of the year. Early Sunday morning I called again. The same guy answered and, when asked about it, said "that is not fixed yet?" A couple of hours later, a power truck from two towns over was there fixing it. Took them less than 20 minutes. Next day, I called that power company and thanked them for coming to my town to fix the power when our company was unable to. They do the hurricane thing for publicity and then cannot even help their own town out.
