Hallo Sean! SD> I've been hearing rumors that "they" may lift one of the GPS SD> filters to make it more accurate than it is now...not sure if I SD> believe it. As we speak, the USB one I have is showing; Long Err (XDOP, EPX): 0.71, +/- 2.7 m Lat Err (YDOP, EPY): 2.66, +/- 10.0 m Alt Err (VDOP, EPV): 3.80, +/- 9.2 m 2D Err (HDOP, CEP): 2.80, +/- 10.3 m 3D Err (PDOP, SEP): 4.80, +/- 13.8 m Time Err (TDOP): 3.09 Geo Err (GDOP): 5.55 Those numbers are a bit higher than usual but it is cloudy and raining so that always has a negative impact on GPS. On the new one I plan to add an active antenna so that should improve things, not to mention as the extra IO the reciever will have access to. Once I get that working I plan to take the USB apart and see what is REALLY going on in there. I might be able to hack it and improve it's output if it is a simple matter of rewiring it to a better interface to get things like PPS working. SD> Always fun! I am working on setting up a Linux box to replace SD> the Windows box in my ham shack... Always an excellent plan. Het leven is goed, Maurice ... Huil niet om mij, ik heb vi. --- GNU bash, version 4.4.23(1)-release (x86_64-bonnell-linux-gnu) * Origin: Little Mikey's EuroPoint - Ladysmith BC, Canada (2:280/464.113) |
