Hello August! On <Wed, 29 May 19>, you wrote me: AA> Congratulations! I am very impressed. You are a wizard at fido tech. AA> Give up, you'll have me blushing -:8) AA> Good to see that HPT is quite doable with SEM. Yes, as is CrashMail but it's not the choice of tosser that matters, it's the choice of message base format that matters. After a mammoth testing session the other day, I make the following observations: Tossers ------- [1] hpt and CrashMail will both create JAM and *.MSG message bases. [2] hpt will create a Squish message base, CrashMail will not. SemPoint -------- [1] Will not interpret a JAM message base correctly. [2] Will not interpret a Squish message base correctly. [3] Interprets a *.MSG message base correctly. In the case of [1] and [2] above, SemPoint adds garbage on the line directly below the origin line and does not show the first line of a message(s). The first line is usually, but not always, a "greeting" line. Support for external config files --------------------------------- AREAS.BBS - crashes SemPoint. GOLDED.CFG - SemPoint doesn't appear to do anything with it, i.e. no areas show up in SemPoint's area list. SQUISH.CFG - SemPoint reads it and automatically sets up areas in SemPoint's area list. I think that just about covers it so far. AA> But.. would it be sustainable for someone who is not too AA> programmatically inclined? No way Regards, Martin --- SemPoint 2.26+ * Origin: Mail Media. Do not expose to Flames! (2:310/31.3) |
