Hello August! On 27.04.19 at 19:22, August Abolins wrote to Martin Foster: AA>>> For your perusal and comments/additions/corrections: AA>>> https://kolico.ca/fidonet/echos/points/ MF>> Thank you very much indeed for putting that up, much appreciated. MF>> Where should we post our comments/additions/corrections AA> Oh.. this echo is probably fine for that. OK, here's a few for starters :-) Corrections =========== [APoint] CONS ------------- "- internal editor: ^Y deletes UNDER the current line." This should be in [WinPoint] CONS. Additions ========= [APoint] PROS ------------- Editable right-click menus. Script recorder. Message tagging(flags). Extensive context-sensitive help. [APoint] CONS ------------- Nodelist browser barfs when more than one nodelist/pointlist installed. Internal editor does not indent quoted text. Comments ======== [Apoint] CONS ------------- "- JAM support broken. Only Apoint message base (AMF) supported." I don't think this is entirely true because if you look at one of your own posts of the 26th April where you included one of my posts from way back in 2003, I said this: "APoint will handle a JAM message base that APoint itself has created ......". As development stopped sometime in 2001, I'm assuming that my statement from 2003 is still correct. However, we've recently discovered a cosmetic issue when converting an existing AMF format message area to JAM format. Based on all that, it may be better to say something along the lines of "Cosmetic issue after converting an AMF format area to JAM format". I'll leave it up to you to decide what to do :-) Regards, Martin --- OpenXP 5.0.38 * Origin: Bitz-Box - Bradford - UK (2:240/2188.31) |
