-=> JOE MACKEY spoke thus to NANCY BACKUS <=- JM> I was beginning to wonder as we roamed though unexplored parts of the JM> state. First was north, then east, then west, back to north, west JM> again... JM> Up this road, down that one... JM> I just kept a semi in sight and followed him, hoping he was going in JM> the same general direction I was. That works sometimes. Good thing you weren't behind me on one of my first trips to New York when I was driving truck. I was heading down Broadway and was supposed to take a left onto 13th st but there was a car at the corner, that angle of 13th street was not 90 degrees and there was no way I was going to make it. One of New York's finest came up on me and told me the only way I was going to make it to 13th was to go down a block , that a left followed by two more lefts and I'd end up on 13th. Of course that first left was a one way going the wrong way and I'm sure I peed off a lot of drivers that morning. Old truckers never die; they just retire.
