JM> open and no one around. Knowing a bit of the city... I sure hope
JM> whatever was in your trunk was still there. <g>

 JM> I would imagine so :)
JM> Had no problems at all when in NYC. The part of Manhattan I was in
JM> was totally safe. To me anyway.

That's true, it's been years since I was in NY but there were some areas that
were pretty save there. Other parts of the city were another thing entirely.
:)

JM> Speaking of trunks popping open and no one around.
JM> A few years ago at work I was going to make a money run to the bank
JM> with meter money, which was always a police escort. The fella giving
JM> me the ride forgot something and back into the station. I was standing
JM> beside the cruiser and thought I had heard snow slide off the station
JM> roof and went to see but nothing there. Walking past the cruiser where
JM> a co-worker was standing suddenly the trunk popped open and closed
JM> again. We were laughing about that when suddenly the engine burst into
JM> flames with the hood opening, doors opening, etc. There was some sort
JM> of "malfunction" and what I thought was snow sliding off the roof were
 JM> the airbags opening.

Oh wow!! That will get your attentione every time. My goodness, was anyone
hurt?

JM> We were very fortunate since if we left when planned we would have
JM> been in traffic when that happened.

Yeah, that would have been bad. Would have been a hot time in the city
that day for sure. :)

JM> I walked into the station telling the day commander, "One of your
JM> cars is on fire". He looked out, freaked out, and grabbed a fire
JM> extinguisher but it took the fire department to totally put it out.
JM> We called that Impala "old sparky" after that. :)

 hahahaha, I'll bet. :)

... "put the cat out?... " ... "I didn't know it was on fire!... "

Greeting from
The Curmudgeon
