Nancy, NB>You lucked out, though... didn't get picked up, and got home safely... Thankfully. I had a nightmare when I got back home. The outside storm door, which was UNLOCKED when I left, was LOCKED when I got home...and there was NO KEY AVAILABLE. I had to yank hard on the door several times to get it open, and nearly broke my wrist. When I can get some money, I'm going to replace the key and lock in the door, instead of the entire door. NB>Yep... And made it clear that he was just joking with you before.. Yes...but if I don't know the person well, I tend to take stuff very seriously. NB>Were you paid by the hour...? Sounds, too, like your system is a little NB>different from ours.... Yep...in all cases where I worked. The one exception was when I delivered an afternoon newspaper route in south Florida (that paper is now long gone). I was paid by how many subscribers I had, and was paid every 2 weeks. Now around Christmas time, I'd buy and send out signed Christmas Cards to each customer. When I went to collect payment from those who didn't "pay by mail", in some cases, they only owed $1.20 (10 cents a day for 6 days a week for 2 weeks -- there was no paper on Sunday), they'd give me a $10 or $20 bill, and tell me to keep the change!!
