Nancy, NB> DS> I had bought a bunch of Funions onion ring snacks, and just scarfed NB> DS> a good bit of them down. NB>Those can be tasty, too... I can devour an entire bag in one sitting...but there's no "onion breath" afterwards. NB>True... and our mechanics don't trust all their customers the way they NB>do us, to be sure... We've been bringing our vehicles to them for over NB>20 years... It's good when you have a place you can trust. An area Chevrolet Dealership takes good care of my Buick LeSabre (formerly my Mom's, but she'll never drive again)...I sold the Chevrolet Cavalier just before Christmas last year. However, I still have to "pay them for services rendered"...and that's only right. I just didn't have the money last month to get it for 10 days. It looked like yesterday, that the left headlight is out...but that will just eliminate driving in the rain or at night...which I don't care to do anyway. NB>I'm pretty sure the clerk had to be joking... I was still able to get into the P.O. Box yesterday. I did mail a deal to Cabot yesterday, and put extra postage (forever stamps) on it to be sure it got there...at least I hope it did. The Postal Service has LOST several pieces of mail to/from me (including bills and bill payments), so I now pay bills over the phone, if at all possible. NB>And you are seeing doctors regularly, who also can vouch for your NB>inability to work... How old are you now....? This may soon be a thing NB>of the past.... I just turned 59 late last month...will hit the big six-oh next year. <G> NB>I think the first guy would likely get himself disqualified with that NB>sort of statement, as he obviously was hoping for... Depends how your NB>statement strikes the lawyers as to whether or not they'd want you on NB>their jury, though... Our system does presume innocence until guilt NB>is proven..... This is true. Although if they find out you have had criminal justice courses in college, are a lawyer, in law enforcement, a paramedic, or on active duty in the military, you probably will get excused. Had I mentioned the criminal justice course I had in college when I was at the orientation, they might have had my name stricken from the jury pool. Yet, for so many folks, they would be "ruined financially" if they had to serve. NB>Can't really blame either of those on the sidewalks.... And around here, NB>people are as likely to be walking in the streets instead of on the NB>sidewalks.... They'll even walk on the railroad right of way (the tracks), which is trespassing, since the ROW is private property. NB>I'm certainly not advising you on that... one way or the other... I may NB>be slightly reconciled to Win10, but that doesn't mean I'd recommend it, NB>or any other Windows, for that matter... Well, I can't afford it right now. I heard someone say that Microsoft would offer the upgrade for free during April to Windows 7 and 8 users, but I haven't seen anything official on that. However, I would have to make a backup of the data on the BBS computer, my laptop, and what was my Mom's computer, before starting the OS upgrade. The BBS would be down for a time while I did such. NB>... Windows is not a virus ... viruses do something. Windows is also a pain in the glass. <G> Daryl === ■ OLX 1.53 ■ LaQuinta: Spanish for "Next To Denny's". --- SBBSecho 3.07-Win32 * Origin: FIDONet: The Thunderbolt BBS - tbolt.synchro.net (1:19/33) |
