-=> Quoting Daryl Stout to Nancy Backus on 03-29-19 15:22 <=- NB>> The doc decided it was better to be safe than sorry on that too, NB>> then....? DS> Well, it was so late in the day for my appointment, and they do DS> "jack me up" where I can't sleep overnight. Plus, insurance is another DS> issue. I saw a cartoon the other day, where the patient is told by the DS> doctor "We're going to run some tests, to see how your insurance DS> reacts". <G> I thought you said that you DID get the shot... that sounds now like you didn't... perhaps you'd left out a word...? NB>> Have you tried using a wedge so you aren't lying flat...? That helps NB>> me immensely.... with at least one pillow on top of that... DS> Not that I can think of...I do have the extra pillows. The reflux DS> flares up at night as well. But, I have to either sleep on my side or DS> on my stomach...I can't sleep on my back...my legs spasm otherwise. I sleep on my side also... the wedge still works for that... I have a 10" wedge... we have a waterbed, so the alternate suggestion of putting the head of the bed up on blocks didn't work for us... They run about $40 at a medical supply place... it might be covered by insurance with a prescription, but I never tried to do that.... My reflux tends to flare whenever I lie flat, especially if I've eaten recently... It isn't helped much by the fact that the sphincter muscle closing the stomach from the esophagus was totally eaten away by the acid before this was properly diagnosed and I got the right medication to heal things... NB>> Yes, but the powder was originally black tea, before they processed it NB>> into something that would be instant and added the sugar.... DS> Well, it's rare I drink that...unless I'm eating out, or traveling. If I'm drinking tea, it's when I'm eating out, and it is freshly brewed, whether green tea, Chinese tea, or some sort of special tea with added milk and spices... NB>> Then it's not likely allergies... but the sinuses could still be part NB>> of it, could be it's barometric pressure related.... DS> That's possible. I've been weather sensitive all my life... 2 DS> indirect lightning strikes not withstanding. Dunno if that would sensitize you more, but i's possible, I suppose... ttyl neb ... I try to take one day at a time, but often several days attack at once ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.20 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Fido Since 1991 | QWK by Web | BBS.FIDOSYSOP.ORG (1:123/140) |
