Joe, JM> When I upgraded, other than 10, it was when the pc was the shop for JM>something (usually something I did to cause the problem) and the wizards JM>there installed it, usually free, along with a copy of a back up install JM>disk. I may do that for this one. JM> When I installed 10 (free upgrade from MS) I thought "This won't take JM>long" but it was hours while the PC churned away downloading, installing, JM>rebooting, etc. I've heard so many horror stories with it, but "Microsoft is forcing folks to upgrade" to get the "security updates". The thing is, $200+ a pop is rather pricey, IMO (I'm a frugal cheapskate). One fellow ham radio operator calls Windows 10 "Satan's Little Sex Toy". Every time there's an update (which is done at any time, day or night, no matter what task you may be doing), it invariably crashes several applications.
