Joe,

JM>> The reflux is especially worse when I lie down at night.

JM> I've read that is because the acid builds up and finally has to find a
JM>way out.

If I sit up for a bit after taking the pill, it eases it. But, I try
to eat the foods that trigger it for lunch, instead of dinner.

JM>> I used to eat the fruit cups

JM> Those cost more than they are worth. Plus they are processed.

True. But, I quit eating them for some reason.

JM> I'm not a health food nut or anything but I prefer a minimum of
JM>processed foods. Not that I don't sometimes eat it.

All the processed foods are drowning in sodium. At least I don't have
a heart conditon, and don't have to worry about that.

JM> One of the things I loved working in produce was getting all sorts of
JM>stuff free. If a product had any defects it couldn't be sold, so I often
JM>had to cull out things, such as when someone brought X pounds of whatever
JM>rather than the box. (The boxes were not culled, shipped "as is"",
JM>though they were opened and given a quick look see.) I brought home all
JM>sorts of stuff that had a little spot that was cut out and perfectly good
JM>otherwise.

Nice way to fill up the icebox.

JM> I used to get a laugh around late April-early May when old codgers in
JM>beat up pickup trucks would buy stuff at the market then a few hours
JM>later be seen at the farmers market selling "home grown" whatever. And
JM>people seemed to think somehow a local "farmer" had ripe peaches in early
JM>May, or corn, or whatever.

There are some farmers markets in central Arkansas, but "I do my
gardening at Kroger". <G>

JM> (BTW, I recently found a site with the Green Acres shows and been
JM>watching them and what impresses me is the sheer surrealism of the
JM>program.)

I always loved Pat Buttram (Mr. Haney) with his voice. He told Eva
Gabor (Lisa Douglas) that "I'd rather work with Mister (Oliver) Douglas
(Eddie Albert)"...because she always "talked him down on the price"!!
<G>

That and its companion, Petticoat Junction, were examples of TV you'll
never see again.

Daryl
