Joe, JM> With my reflux I find a good belch helps. Just like when my brother and I were growing up. We'd buy a glass bottle of Doctor Pepper, swig the whole thing down, and see who could let out the raunchiest belch. Should I alert the folks at Golden Corral, that we're not 2 beached whales hanging by the food bar after we graze?? <G> JM> Some times I'll have a good slug of milk that neutralizes the acid. Usually Coca-Cola or Ginger Ale will do it for me. But, since I have just flavored water at home, I have to take an OTC reflux tablet...then sit up for a bit for it to take effect. The reflux is especially worse when I lie down at night. JM> And there is also baking soda and water. That's nasty tasting stuff JM>and have to drink the glass in one gulp to be effective. That'll produce JM>a window rattling result. On the belcher scale, no doubt. <G> JM> I love fruits of all sorts and when in season I eat a lot. I used to eat the fruit cups...maraschino cherry, peach, pineapple, etc. Years ago, my late my grandmother got my brother a gallon jar of those cherries. He got so burned out that he never ate them again...and I think he's the same way with rice. I myself love those cherries, and the only rice I can't handle is the "Spanish Rice". JM> What I dislike are fruits in stores that aren't ripe, but I set them JM>out and will ripen at room temp over a few days. The cherry and grape tomatoes rot so fast that it's pathetic. When I was making salads at home, I liked having them in it.
