Joe, JM> There are vids on YouTube of drivers doing stupid things like that, JM>general bad driving, etc where they are pulled over just up the road. JM>Called instant karma videos. Or the ones who go under these "low clearance bridges", and get the top of their vehicle "shaved right off"!! Or like the tagline "My karma just ran over your dogma". <G> JM>> That's this generation. Too many things and people in this life are JM>> meant to discourage and destroy each other. JM> Ain't that the truth. JM> And its in every bit of society as well. So much for consideration of others. JM>> I want to be known for, and remembered as an ENCOURAGER. JM> I'd give you a gold star if I had one. I thought I had a dunce cap on order. <G> JM> I did minor things like that on my cars when I had one. I've never been mechanically inclined. I can at least fill the car up with gasoline. JM> I would be happy to send you some of ours. The winter weather lovers have been furious, as Little Rock has seen very little snow the last 2 winters. Now, we're on the flip side into Tornado Season...with both this Thursday into Friday...and next Sunday into Monday, looking particularly volatile. I prefer the cold weather, because while it makes the arthritis hurt more...it means no insects, no heat illness, and no tornadoes. JM> We got over 20 inches of rain over normal last year and this year is JM>looking to be the same. (But I prefer rain over snow any day). Plus, you don't have to shovel rain. JM> One year it was very wet and October Fire Prevention time came and we JM>were waterlogged. If you stood in one spot too long you started sinking. I believe it. The yard becomes a mud bog. JM> One of our goofy weathermen said a fire could still spark at any time JM>with dire consequences (houses bursting into flame, forest fires, etc). Spontaneous combustion is another cause. I check the Arkansas Fire Info site for the status of burn bans and fire danger, and have such on the BBS. If there's a high or extreme fire danger, with burn bans, they cancel the fireworks shows...I wish they'd outlaw the fireworks stands. Those with pets or with PTSD, suffer greatly when those things go off...plus, if the sparks land on your roof during a drought, it could start a conflagration. JM> In the late '90s I was working midnight's in dorm security. (Sort of a JM>gloried hotel desk clerk). For several mid-January nights we got a rain JM>that turned to sleet and everything outside was caked in ice. (Had to JM>spend time each morning chipping ice off my bike). There's a major JM>street that ran in front of the building I was in and cars would go JM>zooming down the street like a dry June afternoon, with a light at the JM>next corner. There were fender benders on a regular basis. I have to wonder "Why rush to a red light??". Admittedly, I think of the cartoon with Blake Edward's "The Pink Panther", where he's "racing" in his little car (painted pink of course), against none other than "Granny Flash -- Senior Citizens Drag Champion". <G> As for the human version (Peter Sellars, aka Inspector Clouseau), he fell through this light, and heavily damaged this musical instrument. The female owner said "That was a priceless, irreplaceable piano"...and he replies "That is correct, Madam...it was". <G> Daryl === ■ OLX 1.53 ■ The Thunderbolt BBS, Little Rock, AR tbolt.synchro.net --- SBBSecho 3.07-Win32 * Origin: FIDONet: The Thunderbolt BBS - tbolt.synchro.net (1:19/33) |
