Orbitman | All | hum problem |

Hey guys, I wanted to run this by you and see if you can help me iron out a problem I'm having with hum on my transmit audio on the 2 meter. Radio: Alinco dual-band (vhf/uhf) Antenna: Ringo Ranger / Ht: about 25 feet on aluminum mast Hum on transmit only. When I touch the radio, hum goes away. I have shut the mains off to the house to make sure it's not picking up something from the room it's in....still hums on transmit. Radio power by psu or battery makes no difference. Only goes away when I touch it. I can pull my truck near the antenna mast, hook the mobile radio to the same antenna line and there's no hum. All I can figure is it's something really close by. Ground rod is between house and mast. All coax and connectors check out. Both HF antennas are grounded to the same point and there's no hum on transmit on HF...only vhf. I have tried everything and I can't get rid of it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for taking time to read and ponder Thanks!
